Monroe, Walker 'Drive' Tech Training at Vocational Programs Across the U.S.

The Tenneco DRIVE interactive training program, developed by the Monroe and Walker brands in 2005, is targeting several new automotive vocational and high school programs this fall, in a continuing effort to help enhance the preparation and education of the next generation of undercar technicians.

Long a supporter of technician education programs like the Technology Tour and Monroe Ride and Drive programs, Tenneco developed DRIVÉ as an investment in the future of independent automotive service businesses and their techncians. More than 1400 students have participated in the DRIVE program since its inception. The program offers hands-on materials to enhance classroom instruction and technical training by providing instructors with ride control and converter takeaparts, muffler cutaways, training posters and more.

"This program is a way to invest in the future of the independent aftermarket," said Carri Irby, brand manager for Monroe and Walker. "That investment begins and ends with the people in the aftermarket, specifically the service technician, and it's critical that manufacturers like Monroe and Walker offer as much support as possible. DRIVE has become the perfect conduit for us to work with and support these people."
